I love that film.

I just watched Garden State again and it got better. As always I noticed things I never saw before.

When Unz said it was the greatest film he’d ever seen I said it wasn’t that good, and I think I’m right. It was good, but not absolutely amazing, just clever.

I loved the way it was done – the majority of scenes were awkward situations, the way they were filmed and directed it’s like you’re there, you can feel the awkwardness, and you’re laughing, but you feel you should be holding it in as not to be rude.

I wish I could compare this film to ever other film I’ve watched this past year, and other previous years, but I can’t. Shame really because I’m sure it’d be interesting to me.

Makes me think I should have a notepad and pen at hand during everything I ever get involved with, even if its something as simple and mundane as “You made your dinner, so later, when mum asks you can say ‘yeah, I ate’ and not look like an idiot as always”.

I deleted a paragraph that was here.

Anyway, second time round it was better; much, much better.

Can winter make you a little more glum than usual? I’d ask in hyjinx, but I’d feel kind of stupid, like I do asking here, but here I have the hope it won’t be seen.

I’ve been listening to new music and some of it is great, so great I can’t put it down.

The Arcade Fire – Funeral

I cannot stop listening to it. Track six is amazing, and I really mean it. This track sends a shiver down me at the end nine times out of ten, it’s that good.

The Shins – Oh, Introverted World

A few tracks are on the Garden State sound track, so I got the sound track, liked it, and got the OST. Its good, really, it is.

The Chemical Brothers – Push The Button

I think this is to be released in ’05 at some point, but this is the internet where advanced copies roam free in amazing --aps quality. (Ripped with exact audio copy, and encode through LAME mp3 in --alt preset standard.)

Death Cab For Cutie – Transatlantisism

I don’t think this is from 2004, but its good, wish I’d discovered them sooner.

I could listen to ‘The New Year’ on repeat a fair bit.

Ben Folds – Ben Folds Live

Not new to me – I had a few of the tracks, loved them, and wondered where they were from but never looked. Well now I have them. I like it. The End.
